Community Based Fracture Clinic
Established in January 2018 in collaboration with Western Sydney Primary Health
Network, The Injury Centre Norwest (previously Blacktown) and The Injury Centre Narellan provides General Practitioners and patients with an Emergency Department alternative for fractures and other musculoskeletal injuries.
We offer same/next day access to our Experienced Emergency Clinicians to assess, stabilise and provide initial treatment for acute fractures and other musculoskeletal injuries.
This is followed by rapid access to our Specialist Orthopaedic / Hand Surgeons for
specialist opinion and management of appropriate acute fractures via our co-located
Community Based Fracture Clinic.
We have on-site X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT & MRI at both practices.
Our Specialist Emergency Physicians provide consultation for the investigation
of undiagnosed pain including advanced imaging when appropriate. A report detailing the
findings and recommended management plan will then be provided to the referring
clinician for ongoing management and coordination of care.
GP's and other clinicians may refer to our service using our referral pads or a standard referral
addressed to Emergency Physician to ensure that your patient can access a
consultation for initial assessment and stabilistation. We will coordinate a rapid review
with our partnering Orthopaedic / Hand Surgeons within our practice for
consultation as required for appropriate acute fractures.
